The Centre for Neuroscience has been functioning as a branch of Department of Biotechnology at Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT), Kerala. The centre was established in 2000 under the auspicious leadership of a visionary academician, Late Prof. C S Paulose.
The human brain is one of the most complex systems in the universe, and the intervention of the scientific world is yet to decipher the complexity of its functionalities. In order to delineate the complexities of the nervous system, the Centre for Neuroscience has extended its research focus on the following areas with funding from different agencies.

• Neurodegeneration

• Neuroplasticity
• Gut Brain interactions
The Centre takes special initiative to disseminate the knowledge to the society. Thus, Prajñā has been brought into place as a platform of CNS to bridge science and society.
