The Centre for Neuroscience (CNS) at CUSAT was established in 2000 and has been actively involved in the search for new dimensions of Neuroscience since its inception. The centre promulgates to have a healthy brain through research, debate, and discourses over various neurodegenerative conditions and encourages the participation of both academic and non-academic communities to accomplish the vision of the centre.

The human brain is one of the most complex systems in the universe, where the intervention of the scientific world is yet to explore the complexity of its functional aspects. Therefore, rigorous research and continuous interventions are essential to understand the system and various nuances associated with its functions. In order to decipher the neurological pathways and their diverse effects in the human brain, the Centre for Neuroscience is actively engaged with several areas of brain research such as critical analysis on the recent neuro-scientific advancements, related pre-clinical & clinical trials and academic discourses in collaboration with various institutions.

Prajñā-Udbodh initiative by the CNS had gained public attention by conducting memory walk on the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day and various public intervention programs like memory café, memory clinics etc. in and around Kochi, India.
